Skydiver Chas McNeil named after Devon tragedy

Man named following skydive incident in Devon

“Keep your chin up and when you look up at the sky, think of Chas.” – words from the family of 49-year-old Chas McNeil who sadly died following a skydiving incident on Saturday, 28 February.

Emergency services were called to Dunkeswell Aerodrome just before 1pm on Saturday 28 February, following concerns for the welfare of a male skydiver.

Mr McNeil, who was from Poole, was confirmed deceased at the scene. His family were informed, and we ask that their privacy is respected.

Enquiries remain ongoing by police, British Skydiving and East Devon District Council Environmental Health and Safety Office.

Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr McNeil.
