A Devon fuel industry professional who has built a reputation for going above and beyond for customers has received national recognition after being named the best in the business at a prestigious industry awards ceremony.
Andrea Williams, sales manager at Okehampton-based Moorland Fuels, was named winner of the Customer Service Award at the UK and Ireland Fuel Distributors Association (UKIFDA) Awards 2026.
The award was presented during the annual UKIFDA Expo and Conference, which took place in Liverpool on Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16.
Andrea faced competition from customer service teams from across the fuel sector before being selected as the winner.
Moorland Fuels supplies commercial fuels, heating oil and lubricants across the South West.
Judges praised Andrea’s leadership, customer-focused approach and commitment to building strong relationships. They also highlighted her willingness to go beyond her role, including visiting customers, checking on their welfare and delivering emergency fuel supplies outside normal working hours.
Andrea was also recognised for developing initiatives which have contributed to the company’s continued growth and success.
Andrea said: “It’s incredibly heartening to be recognised by the fuel industry for the work that we do to help our customers when they need us most.
“Running short of heating oil or fuel can be distressing for businesses, farms and particularly for vulnerable customers, for whom we’re quite literally a lifeline.
