Maritime magic as Clovelly festival brings sea-themed fun to historic village

Visitors enjoyed a day of maritime-themed entertainment as Clovelly hosted its annual Maritime Festival, bringing together live music, family activities and local traders.

The festival, held on Saturday, July 19, featured hands-on workshops, face painting for children and a range of stalls selling food alongside maritime-inspired arts and crafts.

Children aged under 16 who arrived dressed in maritime-themed fancy dress received free entry, adding to the day’s celebrations throughout the historic fishing village.

Live entertainment was provided by Amanita Grove, Rakes Adrift, The Hoodoo Man and Mariners Away, with music continuing throughout the event.

The annual festival formed part of Clovelly’s programme of seasonal events, welcoming visitors to enjoy the village’s distinctive setting overlooking the North Devon coastline.
