A suspected brothel operating from a residential street has been shut down after concerns raised by members of the community prompted police action.

Neighbourhood Support Team officers attended a property on The Terrace in Torquay, where three people – a man and two women – were arrested on suspicion of keeping a brothel for the purposes of prostitution.

The man has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
