We are investigating a fatal road traffic collision near South Molton at the weekend and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers were notified of a single vehicle collision involving a black Audi A3 on an unclassified road between South Molton and North Molton at around 7pm on Saturday 23 May.
South West Ambulance Service, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Devon and Cornwall Police attended the incident.
The driver of the car, a 23-year-old local man, was located in the vehicle and sadly confirmed deceased at the scene a short time later.
A second local man in his 20s, who was a passenger in the car, was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
The road between South Molton and North Molton was closed while officers carried out an examination of the scene.
